Maturity comes with experiences, not age

"But you are so young. How do you even comprehend and remain calm in every storm of your life?" she asked, her voice hinting a bit of curiosity and more of sarcasm, for she had never imagined someone to be as understanding, calm and loveable as him. "Well, sadly, most of us are taught that our age defines our freedom. People mock at us when we try to understand or speak about something which, according to the society, only the elders are supposed to take care of. They don't really care about what we speak, cause the matter of the fact is, they dislike being insulted or interrupted, and ironically they suggest us to behave a bit maturely. They, who don't even know what maturity is, lecture about being mature. Ever tried thinking about what maturity feels like? Just look into the eyes of that ten year old boy, standing by the roadside, selling groceries, just to earn a day's living. It's all about what you have undergone or are going through. Pain is the kind of emotion which nobody likes to share, and yet preach about it, for they never understand what it's like to experience it. I am mature, cause I know what it takes to stand alone for oneself. I know what it takes to spend those sleepless nights, crying silently, hoping for a miracle. I fought the kind of battles you will never even know. It's easy to preach about what you should do, but maturity is when, you practice what you preach", he sighed with a content smile on his face, and that moment, just felt divine, for his eyes reflected the lost truth.🥀
