There are some people you just click with. you don't know why, but with them, talking about death and conspiracy theories seems as easy as talking about your favorite songs. maybe it's about how they are the only person to know of your hatred for dogs, or maybe it's because they were the only person you wanted to tell that to.

and somewhere between singing weird songs and arguing about why cats are better, you fell in love. it was so easy to be with them. effortless, almost. being around them just felt natural. isn't that the most one can ask for?

this is where you realize, love is not as easy as the movies make it seem. life happens and sometimes, you screw up. you get into a huge fight, say nasty things to each other and you storm off. you wonder if it would have been easier to have stayed friends and not having been caught up in the complications of romance.

but the more you think about how you would have been better off without a relationship, the more you realize how much you really love them.

and just like that, you are out at midnight, trying to bring yourself to tell them that you're sorry. they might not pick up, they might never even listen to the voicemail but you still call them. you don't know what to say anymore except that you miss them. you know you messed up but you really love them and you want to make it work.

you hope they will call you back, you really do. because when you find a person like that, you don't let go. you hold on and pray that they're doing that too.
